I teach Kindergarten at a low socioeconomic school. My students come with less general literacy knowledge due to a lack of exposure. I would like to be able to give them and teach them in a literacy rich environment every day. This Book Nook will help me do just that.

Students will use these materials to build and practice literacy skills, spatial awareness, and self regulation. The shelf will be used in conjunction with a bookcase to organize student book choices, the wobble seats and other floor seating will allow students to have choice in their comfortability and offer them the opportunity to practice self regulation using movement while reading if necessary, and the rug will also offer opportunity to practice spatial awareness.
