When my students walk into the art room, you can almost see the day's stress evaporate as they get completely absorbed into their artwork. They tell me daily that they still can't believe that they get to come to art class. I have watched them learn so many skills like cooperation, collaboration, empathy, and emotional regulation. I am so happy that I get to bring art their day. I can tell you by watching them daily that they truly need it!
My students, as a whole, are probably most excited to paint! We only have 30 minutes per class and this makes it very difficult to get through a project and clean up before the next group of students arrive. The tempera cakes are super easy to use and cuts down on the clean up time so students have more time to create beautiful art and still get the room ready for the next group of students.
Clay is a great way to add a 3 dimensional project to our art curriculum, but unfortunately we don't have a kiln. With the purchase of Das Air Dry clay, the kids would be able use their amazing imaginations to create clay sculptures that will be sure to become keepsakes. I truly believe that clay will allow for greater self expression and kids will learn how to repair their mistakes and will therefore learn to become bigger risk takers.
With the help of Ðǿմ«Ã½.org my students will be given a better and more complete education in art. I thank you in advance for considering my project.
