My students will spend four to five hours a day in this room and we want the environment to feel like a place they WANT to be. I teach social emotional learning, and we emphasize personal responsibility to bring joy into our own lives. This means that we surround ourselves with colorful items that insert joy into the classroom. In our class, our number one goal is to create a safe and comfortable learning environment. These items will create a fun, cozy calm corner and lighting that will encourage learning and relaxation.
