As a team, we choose 5 different novels we can focus on for novel studies. With these novels we have all the resources to help the students learn the standards, as well as, ENJOY reading. I want to increase their love of reading and expose them to great books for 5th grade. The resources provided are just not as great as supplementing outside stories. Our team uses each book to cover multiple standards such as theme, quoting evidence, and inferencing. We use Among the Hidden and Number the Stars to teach historical concepts. Our team is so excited to be able to combine our resources and books to provide a much more meaningful and rich curriculum.

About my class
