These materials will be used as labs/experiments/projects to enhance and engage students in the topics of motion, forces, and energy in the classroom. A lot of my students are visual learners and most are afraid of math/science. To give them these opportunities to explore and play with science, would be so unimaginably fulfilling. The reason why I became a teacher was because I was in a STEM related industry (Aerospace) and I didn't have anyone to look up to or was in any leadership position who looked like me. As a person of color, it would be really empowering to see more people of color in STEM related fields. I think that giving the opportunity for my newcomer students to experience the joy and triumph of seeing an experiment or machine design work, would encourage them to pursue a career in a STEM field.
