Imagine that you are a person who has always been struggling to survive. The "normal" school environment, with its harsh lighting and loud noises will often be triggering for students in this situation. They are reminded of the chaos back at home, are distracted due to their own anxiety, ADHD, or other attention processing struggles, and have difficulty finding success in their academics.
With these books (already approved and loved by my students), fluorescent light shades, LED lights, water percolator, and fidget puzzles, I hope to help all students find success in my classroom. Students with so much noise in their minds can sit under a counter under the LED lights and breathe. Students with ADHD or other attention processing struggles can have puzzles to fidget with while listening to our class reading. And ALL students can benefit from the reward of a hot chocolate day for those who aren't missing any assignments. (The hot water percolator) I am positive that each other these items will help my students tremendously.
