So many of the students I teach come from poverty. They have very little stability in their home lives. Some are even homeless at different points during the school year; however, there is data to show that even the students with the worst home lives learn when they feel comfortable in their surroundings. It is my desire to use the materials I have requested to create an organized, cohesive, at-home environment for my students. I want them to learn, but that cannot happen if their basic needs are not met. I know creating this new setting will allow them to learn better because they will feel safe.
