I am requesting props and costume pieces which will guide all my students to the wonderful and limitless world of Theater. When they see me in the hallway in full costume and handheld props, even before entering my classroom, they will be transported into a high level of creativity and imagination. The transition is quite magical, from being students to performers and leaders. They become an active part of what I set up for my daily lesson and topics. Even with the Covid-19 restrictions in all classes, they will allow themselves to create their own characters through physical actions with minimal props available in class.
My plan this school year, is to create a full immersive in-class theater education and performance-based projects with Lights and Sounds, and I dress up in full character costume. When my students enter my classroom, they will be transported to the magical world of theater. Where, they become interchangeably, as Theater students, Audience members, and Leaders in the classroom throughout each class session. A hands-on in-class lessons and activities in every session.
In all my classes from March of 2020 until the end of the 2021 school year, I play a fun-filled character for my students (and myself) throughout the entire class. I am planning to bring more exciting characters to our class. Staying in full character, I can bring all my creative skills to live performance.
My goals for this project are for my learners to write based on personal experiences and heritage, imagination, literature, and history and that they will act by interacting in improvisations and assuming roles.
My students will use movement, voice, and writing to communicate their ideas and feelings. They will use physical movement and acting skills to express a variety of emotions to an audience.
