These kits will be used in a Project Based Learning science environment in a physics class which will allow me to teach more than 100 students over the course of a semester the fundamentals of projectile motion and basic rocketry design. The students will start with the basics of understanding elastic potential energy and projectile motion utilizing a standard rubber band cannon. Next they will advance to the use of water rockets to understand the concepts of pressure and velocity in Bernoulli's Principle which contribute to rocket propulsion. Finally, they will design and build basic rockets utilizing balsa and cardboard tubing to help them understand fundamentals of fin design and aerodynamics.
