These materials will make a difference by exposing my students to a different genre of print. Most of our schools students have shown an interest in the current global news events that they hear their parents discussing. My students love sharing what they are learning with family and friends. These materials will give every student the opportunity to share a new book at home. I will be able to discuss current global events on a second grade level. Students will learn about diverse cultures through the eyes of their peers.
