I am requesting diverse, relatable, fun, interesting books to read. A lot of times students say that they do not have books to read at home, so I allow my students to take books home from our classroom library so they can enjoy at home. I would also love to select a few of these books to do read alouds in class. My students love reading and listening to new books. A lot of the books I have in my classroom library are older books that have been passed down from retiring teachers, I am really hoping to adding some more current and diverse books into our classroom library.
My fifth graders are really into graphic novels! I have added a few on my own and they have been so popular with my students. I really want to be able to provide them with more amazing, great books to read. I also wanted to include some Spanish books, since we are a bilingual class I want my students to have access to books in both languages.
