Think back to elementary school when your teacher would read a book aloud while you sat on the carpet. My students learn by sitting at a desk and sometimes rotating to different tables for stations. I would like to give them a different type of learning space by providing them with a carpet. For whole group lessons it will be nice to have them in a space where I can be close by and see their work on a clipboard while explaining the topic. Having a space that is different from the usul desk will keep them focused on the topic being taught.
