Being in a socioeconomically disadvantaged community during COVID has impacted our softball team greatly. Our team has limited funds this year to purchase needed items due to not playing any games last year. We had no concession or gate proceeds as a result of the season being cancelled. A lot of our pants have holes in them and our girls are wearing very old cleats. We were approved to charge a registration fee of 125.00 but in our community this would create a bigger struggle getting players because they can not afford it. We have completed fundraisers but still have limited funds. This would help our girls and their parents financially as well as boost their confidence by giving them new batting gloves.
