I am the ESL Resource teacher at a Title I school. Many of my students are new to the country. They work hard at acquiring their English skills. Unfortunately, my school lacks an adequate curriculum for our ELL students. My students need direct phonics instruction to help build foundational literacy skills!
My students are eager to learn English! They have a love of learning that is contagious. Many of my students are SIFE students (Students with Interrupted Formal Education). They do not have a strong foundation in either English and/or Spanish.
For this project, I am asking for magnetic letter tiles and magnetic boards to help students learn their letters and sounds. I will be using these for small group instruction. The students will be able to manipulate the tiles to help build essential literacy skills.
In addition, I am asking for letter cards and a pocket chart to help reinforce skills we are learning! The magnetic organizers will help keep our supplies organized and ready to use! Finally, the stickers and candy will be used as incentives to help build a positive learning environment.
My students deserve to have the materials they need to help learn English in a fun and engaging way! Your donation will certainly help us out and will be greatly appreciated!
