Our school in Anchorage, Alaska is approximately 50 years old. It is my goal to bring a little color to the school and hide the institutional walls that line our upstairs and downstairs corridors.
Military children always need a little extra color to brighten their lives.
Our school is one of the oldest facilities in the district. The indoor corridors contain almost 600 ft of bulletin boards that need to be covered. This is a great opportunity to reach our students with inspirational sayings, Social & Emotional encouragement, and a place to display their amazing academic talents.
Teachers lay out money from their own pockets each year to make their classrooms an inviting place for students to learn. With the fulfillment of this grant, teachers will come together to decorate the school and kick off a new year where students are in the building and back to traditional school.
