Gone are the days of sitting feet flat on the floor, sitting straight up at your desks. Kids need the flexibility of choosing the seat that is right for them to be successful leaner. Students are not all the same, nor is their seating choice. Have a variety of different types of seats for students to sit in allows me to help students meet their needs, and there are fewer distractions during the intervention. Students need this extra help, and providing flex seating in my room, will give them the power of choice. Often kids are told what they are doing and how to do it; picking out their seating choice gives control back to the child and allows for choice.
