Flexible seating enables students to take an active role in their education and allows them to choose what learning space works best for them. The types of flexible seating that I would like to include in my classroom are wobble chairs and chair bands. My classroom already includes several flexible seating choices for students and include; different heights of desks, availability to sit under tables with clip boards, on bean bag chairs, and the use of lap trays.
The movement that wobble chairs and chair bands provide, will allow my more active students a chance to channel that extra energy into a positive place of learning. The benefits are endless with flexible seating and I am excited about including these 2 new tools into my classroom.
Over that last year and a half, COVID-19 has changed many facets of education. Now that I have had a chance to be in-person with my students for the last 3 months of school, I noticed a HUGE need for flexible seating. I hope to help ease some of their major education hurdles by providing them with additional flexible seating.
