These materials will make an immense difference in my student's learning environment. My students come from low income families 95% receive free and reduced lunch and 75% of my students speak English as second language. I work in special education primarily with students who have learning disabilities. I firmly believe my students have everything it takes within them to succeed but they have limited access to resources. All of the items included on my list of requested items will serve my students to succeed in a positive learning environment. Many may believe that something as basic as two dollar notebook, headphones and a pack of pens is within anyone's budget but unfortunately for many that is not always the case.
I have even taken the opportunity to add some basic hygiene supplies for the young ladies because they dont have access to feminine products at times & I know how that could affect a young woman's confidence. I wish to be able to help provide these materials for my students because they deserve to have all the materials they need during the school year. The lack of school supplies should not be something that hinders these children from achieving the success they deserve.
