Students will begin learning about The U.S. 13 original colonies as well as major events in the founding years of our country. They will proceed to choose a current state and perform extensive research on that state. The culmination of their findings will be displayed through multimodel projects including cardboard "floats" and virtual presentations. We will use many physical materials to build the float portion of the project, though in weeks leading up to the final project, students must use digital resources to research their state. In past projects, my students have struggled to access some digital resources due to not having adequate technology tools, such as laptops and working headphones. It would be a huge help to have these types of tools, especially headphones, to complete independent research activities.
