This allows the student to try something new to make.
The students will make the ice cream base from scratch and in turn make their own ice cream.
This teaches many aspects of the Culinary field. It teaches them how to be a cook, manager, business owner, cashier and all the other skills that go into running a restaurant.
The students will also set up a class business afterschool to help pay for field trips, competition supplies, and new equipment.
We are a Title I school and have 85 % on free or reduced lunch. My goal is to help give the kids the learning experience they deserve without families worrying about cost of labs, competitions and field trips.
