I am a fifth year teacher and this year I am really focusing on pulling my students to focus on their individual and group needs. Having an easel in my room would give me a space to work with those individuals.
For example, after teaching a reading lesson to the whole class, they would go practice this skill independently. While working quietly, I would pull 4 or 5 students at a time to the easel to teach a vowel team or new sight word. They will be able to do hands on activities on the easel and then go practice the new phonics skill they have learned in their own stories that they are reading.
