I am an excited, new first grade teacher and am trying to build my classroom library. Having a collection of inviting books accessible to all students is very important! The Pete the Cat series is ideal for several reasons. First, these books have simple, colorful illustrations and fun story lines. Second, they are written for new readers so the plot is appealing and the vocabulary is appropriate for most first grade students. Even the cover of Pete the Cat books make you want to pick them up! Last of all, kids love these books!
