The books are used to help the students learn to read for fun. The more they read just for fun the better their reading ability becomes which makes learning a little easier for them. Other school supplies are used for hands on projects and different ways for students to express knowledge rather than only tests. I provide most school supplies for the students to ensure success without being embarrassed about not being able to afford notebooks, paper, pencils, etc. Due to this some of the items are used to organize the materials that will stay in the room (assignments and notes don't get lost that way!)
