Flexible seating allows my seventh graders to decide for themselves what sort of location they prefer to work in, whether it is for a small-group learning activity, partner collaboration, or independent work. Currently, my classroom has tall cafe tables, rectangular tables, and floor spaces with carpet samples and rugs. Students use Chromebooks, clipboards, notebooks, and whiteboards to record their thoughts and ideas. Flexible seating has increased engagement in reading, writing, speaking, and listening because students can work where they are physically comfortable. The products I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating choices. The beanbag and bean bag chairs are comfortable and can be moved easily to different areas of my classroom. I look forward to adding more seating options to my classroom to benefit students.
