My students started the year with a limited amount of reading materials in the classroom. Each time I share a new book with them their eyes light up. They constantly ask me where the new books are in the classroom library and show so much interest in the few that we have. I see the need for more books in our classroom and see how my students engage with their learning when I read a story aloud to them.
My TK/K students love learning about the world around them through stories and relating to the characters that they read about. Providing my students with an ample amount of opportunities to learn about characters like them, and characters that are different is needed to help foster their development of life long learners! They make me proud each and every day and deserve to have more books in their classroom that they can connect to!
