The hands-on learning materials will be used during small group instruction, as well as, during independent center time. These reading, math, and STEM materials have several places in my room where they will be utilized throughout the day and school year. I will use the reading and math materials as I work with my small groups to help each child gain skills they need to be successful readers and mathematicians. I will also use these for independent centers where the students will engage in reading and math activities as they continue to review these skills. I will use the STEM materials during our STEM lab time for my students to create objects using their imagination and engineering skills.
Children learn best through play and hands-on activities. The academic activities I am requesting are engaging and critical thinking tools for small children. We know children love to play, so incorporating academic skills and play together, helps ALL children learn successfully.
