Students will be able to listen to read alouds that help them understand a variety of social emotional topics. Something that is not commonly taught. Having books that cover a variety of topics opens the door for communication, and strategies on how to deal with emotions in healthy ways.
These books will also show a variety of cultures which will teach about diversity, acceptance and understanding. Being able to read books with characters that look similar to them will help hold their attention as they begin to learn how to read.
