Although our students have district-issue devices to access a database of books, our students' wi-fi and home access is extremely limited, therefore physical copies are a necessity for getting books into their homes and keeping kids reading! All these books were chosen with my students in mind as library books help students continue to develop their curiosity, love of learning, and problem solving; and add a sense of wonder and opportunities to explore emotions like empathy within their pages.
With these new books, many students will be able to expand their knowledge of influential people in history, participate and voice their opinions as they vote for books in several regional children's choice awards, and give upper-grade students an outlet for competing in Battle of the Books. Even though the awards and competition are specific for this school year, these books will continue to enrich our beloved library for years and years to come!
