As a Title I school, my students have very limited resources, and nearly all live in high-poverty areas. They also learn best with interactive and hands-on activities. Therefore, an iPad in my speech therapy room would be a great tool to provide visual and interactive resources to engage my students while targeting specific speech and language objectives An iPad will also give them access to hundreds of digital resources. I have already purchased several iPad apps that target my student's speech therapy goals, however, I have to use my personal iPhone to access them. Specifically, Articulation Station Pro is a comprehensive speech/articulation app that will allow my students to practice targeted speech sounds at the word, phrase, and sentence levels of production. These apps are highly motivating, self-checking, and interactive during this time of virtual learning, and having an iPad to access these apps will allow me to address the varied needs of each of my students including: Articulation, Language, Fluency, Voice, and Social Communication!
There are tons of fun ways to use technology in speech therapy sessions and it can be highly motivating for students.
