Shhh...it's a secret! Secret Stories, a brain-based approach to teaching phonics, is a set of short, silly stories that engage kids in remembering the sounds that letters and letter combinations make. I mean, who doesn't want to know a secret? These stories unlock "secrets" like why "er", "ir", and "ur" all make the "er" sound in a multisensory way. With a focus on blends, digraphs, vowel combinations, and the silent "e", all the major phonetic elements are covered. The Secret Stories approach to teaching kids is so kid-friendly, students can't wait to learn the next secret! The secret stories are constantly referred to throughout the day, so they stick with the kids! This fun and engaging program gives students a tool to "crack the code" of reading and unlock the mystery of the sounds letters make when they get together in words. The end result is strong, independent, lifelong readers and writers.
