Our Middle School serves a working class community outside of McDonough, Ga. Our recession challenged district, Henry County Schools, is unable to provide extraneous resources such as GPS devices that would enhance the educational experiences of our students. As a passionate Physical Science Teacher, I am able to see how GPS devices can enrich their learning experiences from a kinesthetic, collaborative, and tactile perspective. While I do not specify their particular use, I see their benefits in a multitude of ways, which can be extended to other areas. I would like for students to use these GPS devices to research specific topics. Each unique experience will provide students the opportunity to engage in a unique lab experience, research opportunity, and web based activity they will present to their peers. A powerful tool for a comprehensive learning experience. I look forward to sharing.
