Materials in Spanish are always needed in a bilingual classroom, especially books. But before students can learn to read, they most learn other essentials skills like letter recognition, sounds, blends and sentence segmenting. These materials will help me teach my students these essential skills needed throughout their life. The manipulatives will help students retain the knowledge they will be receiving and to build on it and apply it to their everyday life. My goal is for my pre-k students to end the school year as beginning readers and writers who will continue to bloom in their upcoming school years.
