This year, our school is launching its first stand-alone STEM class for all students in grades K-5! Students will attend weekly classes in which they will participate in content-rich, hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences. Dynamic cross-curricular lessons will incorporate literacy skills along side more traditional STEM experiences. We strive to empower our students with a strong foundation of literacy in all areas of learning. Our goal is that all students will read, write, research, calculate, reason, design, collaborate, create, and re-create each time they are in the STEM Lab! In order to reach this goal, we would like to create a rich, multicultural STEM Library with current literature to launch learning experiences. Engaging students with stories that highlight individuals who demonstrate perseverance, creativity, ingenuity, and growth-mindset will be the perfect activator to inspire students in their own STEM experiences.
