The paint, pencils, and supplies I am asking for will be invaluable in helping 41 talented young artists reach their future goals. Out of the approximately 2,175 students attending the three schools where I teach, forty-one have been identified as gifted in visual arts.
These young people want to attend college for art, graphic design, fashion and illustration. My older students need art supplies to develop artwork for their college portfolios. As well as working on their portfolios, my students will be learning about the artwork of different cultures, the history and geography of each region, as well as exploring their individual areas of interest. A group of my seventh graders are interested in realistic figure drawing, and study anatomy (even outside of class). They will love using clay to create 3- D self portraits and be very excited to have a plastic skeleton to draw from.
