We have a great deal of books in our room, but they are quite outdated. My goal is to provide students with effective and engaging reading materials that will allow them to see themselves within the various stories. My end goal is to help students learn about the world around them with different eyes and viewpoints from a culturally responsive lens. My students are thirsty for these types of text, and it is my hope that they will be able to have this experience sooner than later in my class.
