I want my students to become good readers, but I also want them to become life-long readers. Luckily, this can be accomplished using the same method: giving kids access to a variety of popular books and time to read them.
When students choose their own books, they choose topics that interest them, which leads to more time spent reading.
I also know how beneficial book clubs are to students. Having multiple copies of books in my library means that kids can read with friends and discuss the books together.
Keeping my library up-to-date with popular new titles is important because it gets more of my 8th graders reading!
Thank you for your support of this project!
