In this project we will be combining creativity, social emotional learning, and applied science to restore and build community. Thanks to Kleenex, these middle schoolers will have a fresh start to a new school year complete with new ways of connecting with each other and our community. Students will have the opportunity to let their creativity and kindness shine as they use light-up stickers to make greeting cards for classmates and community members. We will be using Chibitronics LED stickers, ink pens, mechanical pencils, batteries, and fun colored cardstock to create one of a kind cards that light up. Students will practice design skills, letter writing, and circuitry in this social emotional and STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) based project. Because we don't know what the coming school year holds, this project is designed to be successful either done within the classroom setting or sent home in kits as a distance learning project.
