If funded, the items I requested will be used to, above all, help by third graders be successful readers and learners by the end of the third grade. Most of my students have entered third grade with kindergarten and first grade reading and writing skills. Headphones are a must for learning as we use Chromebooks. The classroom gets SO LOUD without them, and parents have not been able to provide them. Next, by getting my students to use real books but have the ability to listen to them with a CD player, my students will have scaffolding to become independent readers. Also, by having a subscription to Flocabulary, we can have some engaging classroom support to boost our grammar and vocabulary skills. Our current curriculum does not give this support in 3rd grade, only in K-2, and yet I have 3rd graders who need this extra help. Please consider donating as I know these items will make a huge different for all my students, regardless of ability level.
