I plan to gift each student their very own book to keep on the first day of school. Through this gift, they will not only be given the gift of the world, but I will be able to connect multiple standards to this one text.
The students will be able to create art and presentations about their books and hopefully inspire and be inspired to read new authors and titles. They students will also be encouraged to share inspirational or poignant quotes on a text wall in the classroom. All done in hopes of fueling a new love for literature and the chance to explore the world while never leaving Georgia.
