Social-emotional learning is important for building critical skills that benefit students' learning. It helps students to thrive in the classroom and can be beneficial in other social settings. The curriculum for this project uses resources that encourage engagement through children's literature, circle time discussions, as well as art and writing projects.
My students will learn to build healthy relationships through activities that emphasize self-regulation, emotional awareness, respect and manners, friendships, self-esteem, kindness, and empathy.
This will not only help to grow a nurturing learning environment, but it will also help prepare my students to be successful in grade level mainstream activities.
