In my classroom, we prioritize functionality. The skills that my students are learning will help enhance their day-to-day life, and future life outside of school. I want my students to participate in "Coffee Cart Fridays".
My students will have the opportunity to run their own business by collecting money from coffee orders, make coffee using a color-coordinated system to strengthen independence, and deliver orders. For my students with varying abilities (Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, etc.), this would jump-start their skills and passion for working in a kitchen and cooking, to learning how to run a business!
