I provide the bulk of my instruction with students seated on the floor. I love to have students on the floor with me because it is close, personal, and easy for them to share with a partner or participate in discussions. With such a large class, we are a bit more crowded and need the benefit of a large area rug with specific spots for everyone. Having a larger classroom rug will also give students the opportunity to learn using flexible seating and not have to be in chairs all the time. Students will utilize this area rug for a center locations for Reading/Math. The larger rug provides students with adequate space for the center without disrupting other students around them. Having a bright, new, clean place for us to gather will bring joy to all of us!
