My 10th grade students will be reading The Tempest by William Shakespeare this coming year. They will be required to analyze and discuss the dynamic characters and relationships. The play is full of interesting characters like a court jester, a king, and a ghostly spirit. The graphic novel version of this play will help many struggling readers, including English Language Learners, students with exceptional abilities comprehend a complex plot by providing another resource. This version of the play includes the original text; therefore, this graphic novel is the perfect resource for scaffolding in my English class.
