Flexible seating gives my students a choice to pick a spot or seat that works best for them! Some students work better on the floor or in different seating options and giving them this choice empowers them to be comfortable, have a say, and focus on their work. I have noticed my students stay on task more often when they have the ability to choose where they work.
During independent work they have the choice to move around and get comfortable which allows me to focus on my small group or individual student rather than constantly correcting antsy behaviors. Being stuck at a desk all day is not fun for adults, so you can imagine how hard it is for our students. Any help is so appreciated and I know my students with thrive with these options.
I want to allow my students to figure out what works best for them and by having options, this is possible!
