Our school is an Exemplary Title 1 School. About 75% of my students receive free or reduced-priced lunch. In order to be in band, they usually have to rent an instrument. This makes being in band a financial burden for many families in our district.
I believe that all students should be able to participate in activities no matter their financial situation. Alto saxophones are one of the most expensive instruments to rent, but one of the easiest for students to play. Having a saxophone to lend to my students will be very beneficial.
