The items chosen for this project will serve two different purposes in the classroom. The storage bins will provide much needed structure to the students routine throughout the day. They will use some the organizational tools to store their learning items, books, and personalized daily schedules.
All other items for this project are sensory tools, an absolute necessity in an Autistic classroom. They are used throughout the day to provide motivation, stimulation, or self-soothing opportunities. When a student gets worked up, sometimes a short break is all they need to return to their academic task.
By donating to this project, not only are you helping support their attention span and self regulation, you are ultimately improving their academic achievement.
