With 75% of my students living in public housing, it is virtually impossible for them to cultivate a home garden. This project will allow students to container grow various plants and vegetables at home. Promoting a healthy diet along with learning the science and biology of plants makes it a fun way to learn.
We already have two existing hydroponic greenhouses that we built with out students. This is an amazing tool to teach students with, but it was impractical for them to replicate at home with. Grow bags and containers are the perfect answer to meet our students needs.
As a side note, I was not able to order enough potting mix as it was limited by the web site. Approximately 40-50 c.f. will be needed which I will cover personally.
