The items that I am requesting will allow us to support our student's social-emotional learning needs. At our school we support student learning through the use of PBIS Rewards.
The items selected will fill our school store and help motivate our students to follow our school-wide positive behavior expectations through earning points and rewards.
Through PBIS, we are able to further support our school’s AVID initiatives through promoting goal setting and growth mindset. We are able to teach our students numerous additional transferrable skills including, financial literacy and budgeting, opportunity cost, and delayed gratification. Students have the opportunity to view their account balances and go shopping in our online store. The online store has items and experiences they can purchase. Once an order is placed, it will be processed and delivered, much like they would experience if ordering off of Amazon. We feel that being able to provide our students with the experience they are receiving through their participation in PBIS Rewards is very beneficial. Additional support to spruce up tangible rewards with items such as stress balls, bubbles, fidget toys, and bouncy balls for our students would keep the store fun and exciting.
