This iPad will completely change the way I work with my students. Not only will it provide ease and efficiency to my work day, but will allow for students to work one on one with technology that will greatly benefit their learning. As a special education teacher, my role in the classroom is collaborative and fast paced. I work with all students regardless of education plan. Using an iPad in the classroom will allow for me to document student progress, communicate effectively, and share resources with students that they currently do not have access to.
My students often need additive technology that is easy to find through apps, opening a door for better instructional practices. Having this added technology to my classroom will give me more time to meet the needs of my students.
This iPad will be a perfect fit for the classroom. I will have application shortcuts on my home screen that pull up student forms in one click. I will also have a student reflection form, where students can monitor their own progress. This is essential for me to compare my data to students' personal reflections. Allowing me to identify problem areas and support students in a more efficient manner. Above all else, I hope that this use of technology will encourage my students to take an active role in their learning and growth.
