Kids of all ages love a class read aloud. It provides an opportunity to re-set after lunch or at the end of the day. Read alouds create curiosity, opportunities to connect to art and expression and deeper classroom conversations. The book, Wonder by R.J. Palacio has so many rich lessons about friendship, kindness and courage. Our book study will extend into pay it forward projects which create so many opportunities for social emotional learning and true community building in and out of our classroom. Students will journal and express their own feelings and wonderings. I am so excited to intertwine this book into real life lessons.
